Polishing ruined marble: products and advice
Polish the marble ruined may seem like an impossible task especially in cases where, for years, you have chosen not to clean or treat a surface. From floors to walls, marble is a material that gives a touch of elegance and beauty to any environment, but requires particular care and great attention. In Greek its name means "brilliant rock", but more often than not we are faced with marble floors or surfaces that are anything but shiny due to stains, halos and scratches.
A delicate material, between stains and opacity
Few people know that marble is a particularly porous material, which means that it easily absorbs dyes, fatty and oily substances. Basically it stains very easily, but it is not easy to clean. In particular, water has the effect of making it opaque and leading to the formation of marks and limescale. Just think about the marble windowsills or ai bathroom shelves which are usually opaque and not very shiny. Not to mention the spots caused by wine, coffee, yellowish substances (such as cumin, curry or turmeric), tomato sauce, unsuitable and too aggressive detergents. This is a very common problem, but one that can be solved easily and without too much effort by focusing on the right products.
How to polish marble
Riflesso Star is a mixture of waxes and acrylic resins to protect hard surfaces marked by foot traffic, giving protection and shine. The special formulation gives a shine similar to lead polishing. This is a treatment suitable not only for marble, but also for granite, cooked, stoneware, PVC, agglomerates and linoleum.
For external marble surfaces there is instead Neocot di New Chemical Prevention, which offers ua water-based finish. The end result is a glossy aesthetic appearance with stain-resistant properties and the ability to preserve the base protection for longer. The use of this product simplifies maintenance operations, it can be used as a finisher and maintainer after the treatment carried out with the primer.
Finally we find Ginko, a water-based protectant that guarantees superficial defense and deep impregnation. Its formulation includes components based on nano silicas and details fluorinated polymers. It is a product particularly suitable for all compact materials, from natural stone to special ones. Suitable for satin or shiny surfaces such as polished marble, it can also be used for porcelain stoneware and granite.
